Brathay Trust is a youth charity with its head office and residential centre based near Ambleside in Cumbria.  The organisation’s main focus is on training and developing general skills for youth, including Lake District-based outdoor education and experiential learning.   Brathay Trust’s mission is to improve the life chances of children, young people and families by inspiring them to engage positively in their communities.

A recent grant has supported, in partnership with South Tyneside College and The Prince’s Trust, the delivery of personal development programmes for NEET (not in education, employment or training) young people, to help them re-engage with education, have a voice in their community, become peer mentors and young leaders, and for some, to move away from criminal activity.
